Your Story May Hold You Back

Do you struggle with confidence in your leadership abilities? Let's jump right into today's topic which is about really having confidence in yourself as a leader. Now, confidence is something that I struggled with a lot when I was first starting in leadership. I thought I was confident, but I wasn't. How did I overcome that? Well, one of the things that I did was I developed a mantra that I said to myself for months. I'd repeat it several times a day. I had it on a sticky not

Today we are talking about helping identify leaders in your organization, and that can actually be a little bit tricky. Potential leaders are in so many different levels of growth, both in their personal life and professional life and when you're looking to find someone who is the next person you are going to develop, you might not be 100% sure of who to pick. So, here is my advice. Don't pick your most popular person in your organization. Often times they're the most popular

Who are you? What are you offering the world?

This article is all about knowing yourself. What does knowing yourself have to do with being a great leader? The better you know yourself, the better of a leader you can be because you understand how you react in certain situations and that understanding can help you keep unhelpful reactions for happening. Knowledge by itself is not powerful

You all know that I'm a huge seeker of knowledge. I love knowledge. I want it. I like to learn things. I'm always getting books and reading, and watching podcasts, going to webinars and seminars, and you name it. If it's related to learning and leadership, I'm probably there. However, when whoe

Are the books you're reading really helping you grow or are they stifling you?

All the books that you're reading could be hurting your professional and personal growth. Let's jump right into today's topic which is all about books. Here's what I mean. A lot of us can get stuck in what I like to call the gathering trap. The gathering trap is where you're always gathering information because you want to make sure you know exactly what you're doing and exactly what you're talking about. The problem with this is that all that gathering gives you an excuse. Y

We have impacted our personal and professional growth through interactions.

It's estimated that, globally, we've spent over $50 billion a year in leadership development. That just amazes me that we're spending that much money on leadership development, but it doesn't surprise me. I am very passionate about leadership development. I think that passion started way back when I first started my first career. The gentleman that I worked for said, "Sarah, somebody who is a professional keeps track of what they're doing and learning and how they're growing.
